Mining:

Mining is important to Chrome Craft because not only is mining a valuable source of remanufactured parts business, but chrome itself is a mined resource.  A large portion of parts repaired for mining equipment are for off-highway ore hauling trucks such as Dresser/Komatsu, Caterpillar, and Euclid.  Wheel loaders such as the 992C and 994 Caterpillars as well as shovels are also mining machines that supply Chrome Craft with parts to remanufacture.  Haul trucks capable of carrying 240 tons of ore have large suspension (shock absorber) units that take the shock of the haul roads to spare the machine and driver.  The housings and pistons in these units are repaired by Chrome Craft, as well as the rear suspension units, dump bed hoist units, control valves, differential parts, and other parts.  Chrome Craft's expertise with these parts comes from years of refining the methods developed to recondition them.  Chrome Craft's remanufactured parts have operated in machines in some of the largest mines in the world.

Plastic Extrusion:

How can plastic wear out metal parts?  Just ask the tool and die department at any plastic extrusion company.  Or come to Chrome Craft when we receive another shipment of dies, spiders, mandrels, sizing sleeves, pins, gauges, or other pieces to be hard chromed.  Plating these parts requires true craftsmanship.  From anode building to plating to final polishing,  the skill of our platers shows up in the quality of their finished products.

Producers of plastic pipe rely on a good plate job from Chrome Craft to stretch the time between costly maintenance shutdowns.  Once an extrusion line is going it must run 24 hours a day until teardown time comes,  or the entire line must undergo a major cleanup and restart process.
